July in Design Perspective

medium_striped-labyrinth-cut-out-swimsuitI’ve seen a lot of labyrinth images and created a number too, though the wearable art of the labyrinth has taken on new dimensions for awareness and application in this hot summer month of July.

Just having the design on your clothing can be a statement of your many varieties or your singular focus in spite of what seems many directions.  It can also be a handy opportunity to take a moment to figure things out with the touch of a fingertip trace when undecided.

In any case it does make a statement and its pattern shows us that it can make any fabric a story of art, an abstract of historical presence or just a feeling of whimsy. When we think things only have to be one way, we limit ourselves and when we visualize and stylize our lives labyrinthically, we find there is always much more at hand than we might first appreciate.

What might you apply the pattern to this month to create perspective?
