Just Different

TLS 365 Experience #42
April 11, 2017

I came upon an interesting path.

Located at the front of the church, it was far enough away from the busy street, though instead of being private and secluded in the back or side, it was right out in front. Thirteen yews encircled it to create a secluded environment, and it was as if the yews served as a large arm of the church protecting this sacred space. Interesting!

The path turned right at the beginning, which was different and reminded me of what a right-handed society we truly live in. The path was also elevated, leaving the borders at ground level…growing more curious.

A unique design, and though it met all the labyrinth specifications, it was just different. The artifacts and icons surrounding it were an interesting mix of yellow roses, religious statuary, modern peace symbols, flags, hearts and whimsically placed as if a guard, A small resin stated of Scooby Doo of cartoon animation.

Nothing wrong or odd, though very different and curious. An unusual creation among the many I’ve visited. Then discovering soon after that this labyrinth had been built by Youth Ministry. Ahhh….understanding. Smile…just different!
