More Global Focus

TLS 365 Experience #249
November 4, 2017

Years ago when I first discovered the labyrinth it was fascinating and I was mesmerized by the connection I felt to myself and so many other things. I liked the notice and clarity and the feeling of alignment in my body. I walked it for meditation or clarity to discover answers and find out things that were curious or to overcome.

Years later, my focus is more globally oriented and not as self directed. Whether it is meditation, affirmation, scripture or intentional global well being, my walks have migrated from from walking into my center to walking into the larger center of all things. I increase my focus of the walk with each path and with so many eruptions happening in the world, there is always a group, community or nation to keep in mind as I walk.

The labyrinth has been a great way to broaden horizons and focus on world well being, knowing that I am a part of the world too.

Anatomy of a Question

TLS 365 Experience #200
September 16, 2017

When I walk the labyrinth, it is often to bring up thoughts, feelings, ideas and questions that are floating around inside of me and wish an external outlet. As I take steps onto the path I am headed inward and the awareness of my body, mind and soul alignment are brought to my attention.

Sensory perception awakens constriction and location.  The more steps that traverse the path inward, the more the emergence of emotion and logic that arise, observe without intrusion. The walking body negotiates the turns and sets the pace of function and as the application of movement spirals inwards traversing the pattern of back and forth, the gentle rocking of what is unimportant loosens and releases the unnecessary in the constriction.

By the time the center has been reached in the labyrinth, the falling away of what is not relevant reveals a true question from the former constriction. The question can now more uniquely fit to evolve circumstance. Knowing a true question, makes finding the walk of the answer one of application and allowance. The walk of reverse is where the additions become the discoveries and the journey to the answer is one of purposeful and practical curiosity.

Peace is Present

TLS 365 Experience #134
July 12, 2017

Today I walk for peace in the world. Actually everyday I walk for peace in the world. I just don’t think about it. When I walk, I just become part of the experience and there is nothing but being in the experience. It is a meditation in this way. Whether I am the peace in my mood or action, how I walk in the world is my reflection. My moments on the labyrinth are a way to reflect that alignment. It is there I connect and remember that peace is always present and only when I am not in it do I seek it.

Learning

classic right handed labyrinth

Right Handed Labyrinth from Labyrinth Enterprises, not right nor wrong.. just different

There are days in which presence seems to have escaped. A series of events can occur which seem to have no rhyme or reason yet of course there is always a reason. They can be a blundering experience and sometimes one on top of another until something comes along and creates a shock of awareness or we’ve simply had enough and turn onto another path.

The walk of today was much like this and so was the morning. In whole when called to take a look at the very idea of presence, it has the audacity to turn cheek and really give cause for learning what it’s all about.

How long does it take you to discover you are out of alignment with your values and ideals? What is the process used to get back to it all? Is it really a happier place to be present than not? These are some of the questions used in discerning awareness and acknowledgement that we are not in Kansas anymore, so to speak.

The great news is that we all have hiccups in our awareness and when we do, it usually is accompanied by something we are to learn. Some days or periods the learning feels as if it can go on forever and sometimes it is just a short sweet tickle. Such is this grand life, open to exploring and knowing like the paths of the labyrinth, it takes us on a journey and only goes for a period of time.

May our journey in this day provide a tweek of awareness, a scant bit of learning and an enjoyable helping of living out loud.
