The Quiet

TLS 365 Experience #153
July 31, 2017

The quietness of a labyrinth in CaliforniaToday is a quiet day and as I reach for the labyrinth, it becomes a still and quiet walk. I find when I am in this kind of quiet, everything seems slower and more profound. Whether I finger walk or utilize full body, the movements I make are very purposeful as if I can feel the tense and release of muscles. noticing how  each is applied in the momentum. My awareness becomes very exact as the quiet is applied like a blanket, and rolls out in a complete way to encompass the entire body.

The quiet is internal and isolates the outside world from the experience. Each motion is observed for what it is, without any descriptive thought or plan from the mind. It is in these moments of the walk that the action of the leg striding to make its next step is complete with the natural force of the foot bearing weight onto the pathway. In the finger walk it is the extension of the arm and the texture felt under the finger as it reaches its destination along patterns and grooves.

To apply a deep quiet creates an expansion of awareness and greater appreciation of each chosen action.

Move and Be Moved

TLS 365 Experience #136
July 14, 2017

Stone LabyrinthThe secret of the labyrinth’s ability is in how we each apply it.

Whether walking, watching, finger walking, drawing or creating a design, the common application is movement. We move with it and it moves us.

Our physicality is shifted, our cognitive construct considers and reconsiders, the way we relate to it, ourselves and others stretches our emotional response and how we connect and our moved internally affects our spiritual inner knowing.

A labyrinth is merely geometry until it’s geography is explored with movement.

Quarter Three: Application

Welcome to the third quarter of the TLS 365 Experience.

3rd Quarter Focus: Application
Where our first quarter sharing included the concept of how we become more aware or create awareness on the labyrinth, our second quarter that completed in June focused on how we educate ourselves and others and the sharing of experiences generated what we learn from our time and use of the labyrinth. Thank you for caring enough to share your experiences!

Our next focus on the labyrinth for this quarter period between July and September brings our attention to the ways we apply the labyrinth. It’s message, meaning or metaphor can be featured and the simple ways in which you offer or experience the labyrinth will be our direction. Consider your personal applications, professional sharing/facilitation, different designs for different purposes, artistic endeavors, or a how-to create or develop something on the labyrinth.

I look forward to the creative caring and sharing that develop within our community for our community.  Share your experience here

Happy Trails,
Lynda Tourloukis
