TLS 365 Experience #26
March 26, 2017
Of footprints and stones and what ever is plentiful,
a labyrinth can be created.
With purpose a design forms
and with perspective it develops
to unwind in the mind
into the available material.
Where the walk can create the labyrinth,
the labyrinth can create the walk.
with what comes.
This is my Awareness.

The cycle of giving and receiving is a cycle of caring and sharing of our wisdom and appreciation
While we move through the month and focus on the inner knowing and wisdom of peace, we walk with slow and silent meditative steps. Sometimes purposeful on the intent of discovering the presence of peace within the universe we do not want to disturb it with the extra noise that our unconscious being might make at any given turn.
With awareness we discover that peace isn’t about being quite, and with a bit of joy we might fling our arms and whoop it up in excitement of this understanding. What then is the peace we ask?
Is it the having or is it found in the not having? Is it something we have to make a process to find or is is found in the simple epiphanies? Awareness or the idea of being awake and present to a thought, idea or a feeling is the first step. It takes a good idea and then makes the action necessary for the discovery and enlightenment.
With awareness we can be more direct about what peace is and what it isn’t. Where there is resistance, peace can usually be found on the other side of it. Though there is peace within the resistance too. It is everywhere just waiting to be discovered.
“The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the world will know peace.”
I wasn’t listening when I was walking…just walking. I was out doing what I enjoyed and nothing else mattered for the time. Just putting one foot in front of the other and noticing what I was doing. The funny thing is that with that simple and easy notice what also happens along the path is observation and according to Bell’s theorem, we can make change happen just by being a part of the observation.

This became true today as the footsteps became noticed and in the notice they changed and found a more sure and softer footing. The ground suddenly more moist and the ever present needles in the grass more pointy, particularly to a bare foot. I discovered something else in the walk… I listened. What became auditory and acute was the slight breeze and all that was moved by it. Nature was awake and the buzzing of life in the small minute motions was occurring right under the very footsteps I was making and all around it.
And when the world wakes up under your feet and around your being, it is hard to stay asleep with all the wonder that is happening in our presence. How can it not wake us up and give us an opportunity to greet ourselves, remark on the marvel that we are and really begin to know more about our journey.
And then there is this…
“There comes a time when the world gets quiet and the only thing left is your own heart. So you’d better learn the sound of it. Otherwise you’ll never understand what it’s saying.”
Sarah Dessen reminds us of the simple beauty that is our ears in her book… Just Listen.
May we be all ears and cheers on the paths we pave this day!

There are days in which presence seems to have escaped. A series of events can occur which seem to have no rhyme or reason yet of course there is always a reason. They can be a blundering experience and sometimes one on top of another until something comes along and creates a shock of awareness or we’ve simply had enough and turn onto another path.
The walk of today was much like this and so was the morning. In whole when called to take a look at the very idea of presence, it has the audacity to turn cheek and really give cause for learning what it’s all about.
How long does it take you to discover you are out of alignment with your values and ideals? What is the process used to get back to it all? Is it really a happier place to be present than not? These are some of the questions used in discerning awareness and acknowledgement that we are not in Kansas anymore, so to speak.
The great news is that we all have hiccups in our awareness and when we do, it usually is accompanied by something we are to learn. Some days or periods the learning feels as if it can go on forever and sometimes it is just a short sweet tickle. Such is this grand life, open to exploring and knowing like the paths of the labyrinth, it takes us on a journey and only goes for a period of time.
May our journey in this day provide a tweek of awareness, a scant bit of learning and an enjoyable helping of living out loud.
