TLS 365 Experience #263
November 18, 2017
Three years ago I gave a labyrinth presentation for a community who was interested in building one for their area. Initially the first step came from an enthused individual whose love of the labyrinth and community found purpose together.
She sought a group of supporters who brought me in to share information about the labyrinth with visuals and information of similar installations. I gave reason, benefit, design ideas, purpose and practical uses and later created programs for application to include a variety of educational and applicational understanding.
From this, a committee formed to review and create purpose, mission, objective, schedule and sought out finances. I recommended a notable designer, who brought the dream to visual appreciation. She recommended a builder and they brought the community together to integrate ideas, art and assistance.
Like the labyrinth, it grew from a central desire and was surrounded by circles of interest and contribution to its whole. In the dedication each of the seven paths laid represented the part(s) of the individuals involved to make it, noting how each was a path to a point. The dedication also included seven blessings for the seven representations of groups that made up the community. In this way the inward walk brought forth appreciation for those who made this possible and what is possible in life. The outward walk was full of this blessing for the community representation. While not in the original intention, this message formed as part of the development and later became the purpose statement.
“If we walk in with appreciation, we will walk out with a blessing”.
