Full Circle

TLS 365 Experience #104
June 12, 2017

I had walked the labyrinth for years independently enjoying my experience before sharing it with others. I know what I felt, though like many researched, read and discovered the many nuances and fascinating perspectives over time. Somehow each little bit of information made the experience that much more significant and it seemed like this pattern held both simplicity and complexity.

When I was asked to share the experience, it was for a change of seasons and a change of direction. Somehow I just knew what I would share as we are always about change on the labyrinth, and always moving in new directions.  I assembled quotes of so many that had walked before with perspectives of each walk and very simply asked each to embrace the change each felt from path to path and start to finish. The nervousness disappeared when I invited each to the experience as I didn’t need to do anything but allow each to walk their way and discover as I had.

Our talk that followed was full of rich and appreciable stories and sharing. I found it an incredible honor to share what I deeply related to and discover some of the same messages I had experienced over time being repeated in this circle of individuals. I realized this is what it meant to come full circle… on this circle of steps.

Change in the Walk of Life

TLS 365 Experience #16
March 16, 2017

The biggest issue people have in life is dealing with change.

Whether changes involve aging, dealing with loss, job changes, health changes, children growing up, overwhelming new responsibilities, or new opportunities, walking the labyrinth with the purpose of self-exploration and awareness brings insights, comfort, and the energy to go on.

People want life to improve, but change is daunting. The key is to ask questions designed to get to the heart of the matter and take those questions into the labyrinth and listen for answers.

The center of the labyrinth is like the eye of the storm.

Give as Before

Image from the IndiWomenMag

The idea behind forgiveness is to give as we have before we encountered a scenario that made us either become the object of dissatisfaction with ourselves or another. In this month of Return, the concept of forgiveness is but one way to return.

As there has been little posting in this month so far, a forgiveness is sought for the readers who look forward to hearing news and reflecting on the daily path. To return to the path of more regular communication, the simplicity is to pick up the proverbial pen and write. Though with multitudinous changes occurring simultaneously indulgence is also sought. It is a time to return to what is basic and what is true and from that will return a more regular even keel in which to enjoy the musings that come from the path daily.

So as the journey of change is underway, the many occurrences and synchronous events that are happening on a personal level from this writer’s perspective, it is most likely occurring on the path of others like yourself as well. The events are becoming interesting and a great message when it all seems to feel as if an overwhelming surge, is to return again to what is true and right.

As we move forward in this evolution we also can realize that it comes full circle like our walk on this unicursal path, we return to where we began only richer for have taken the road.

There is a book called the Forgiveness Labyrinth and a quote that resonates is “The only way out of the labyrinth of suffering… is to forgive.” David Greene

Welcome to March with Movement

Welcome A New Month!

March is curious with weather, change and new beginnings. It is movement that causes this to occur, somewhere in time things are occurring even if it all seems quiet still… something is moving.

In the movement there is opportunity and I believe that is what this month creates… a chance to move differently to see things differently and if that be a fitting focus… embrace and enjoy!

DeSoto Labyrinth Sculpture at UTSA

Speaking of unique, there are so many of us and so many more artisans, builders and enthusiasts of the labyrinth that have the very inspiring ability to take the patterns of the labyrinth and create a truly significant experience out of it. As it is our focus for the month to move differently we will of course shift perspective and what better way to create an interesting viewpoint than this inspiring labyrinth at the University of Texas at San Antonio.  Artist Lewis De Soto suspended a metal labyrinth at the Thomas Rivera Center for Student Success.

One can walk the shadow side that comes through the rays of the sun or even lay on the ground at night and walk with the stars through the suspended structure. Talk about moving differently!

I have enjoyed putting a cutout against the window in the daylight to have the image of the labyrinth reflected upon the floor and depending upon the time of day, it can yield some interesting experiences of the walk. I am only glad to be reminded of it by this picture and this month’s opportunity!

Do comment and share your unique and different ways of walking or discovery throughout the month as that is the purpose of this sharing…a labyrinthic collaborative!

Oh…to be different and unique…and find our similarities,

Lynda
