Face Time

Day 107: April 17
In The Year of Living Honestly
In The Quarter of: Education
In The Month of: Amusement

Navigating the Labyrinths of the FaceLooking into the face of another, one can see a lifetime etched in the soft lines that form and illustrate the character and changes that have transpired. Expressions that leave traces behind discreetly display attitude and when we have the chance to truly study the face of an individual, we can see how the structural lines flow into form with interesting design. A deeper look with a labyrinthic eye will reveal the significant movement of line perhaps a little differently.

Amused by the various laugh lines present during a meditation experience of looking into other’s expressions, today’s exploration and amusement reveals a journey of the face to realize a number of intersections and directions that resembled a hidden value for our anatomical experience.  Beginning with a simple curl, the ear offers an interesting spiral and leads to the traversing of strands that are connected by a spiral design in the scalp. The fine lines of the eye brow offer a circuitous traveling from outer edge to the inner line of the nose. Dropping away to the eye lashes another round of curious navigation comes round to the fine lines of the eye and the very interesting designs of the eye all the way to the center point of the pupil. Moving along the long curve of the nose from the small lines around and curving up into the nostrils meet the ridge of skin that moves us down into the lip line.

Traversing the fine lines of the lip we can travel from one side to the other between the lines from top to bottom to find ourselves moving from external to internal by opening our mouth and dropping into the oral cavity. Were we to have freckles, moles or birthmarks, the navigation would find a way to encircle and embrace the way in which they grace the face.

While this may just be an amusing way to see the labyrinth in interesting places, we were designed with all these features and to explore them in light hearted ways can often help us to understand and explore more.

On this 107th day…
Discover the labyrinths of your face that are apparent and explore with another for an amusing adventure in having curious fun with others.

April's Banner Year of Living Honestly 2018April’s Focus

Let this month unfurl your creativity, spontaneity and jocularity. It feels good to feel good and while we have been conditioned to shush our good times, let the labyrinth be our own private creation station of amusement, enjoyment and playful experiments. This month educate with amusement and see how much farther you get. Have fun and be creative.  We have three opportunities to education your potential with amusement this month that involves either your personal walk, your ability to design and how much you can learn by sharing. On your Mark, Get Set…Go!

  1. Innovate – Walk Amused
In the 30 days that grace this month, play with the way you personally experience the labyrinth. Let this season of education be one of personal bests and enjoy finding a new way to be innovative, creative, inspired and amused in your personal experiences. I’d love to see what you come up with!
    Please share your wonderful experiences!

2. Create – Design Inspired
To date I have created 95 different labyrinth creations and designs since the beginning of the year, let that inspire you to create something new this month that is inspiring and firing for your imagination. Einstein said that playing with ideas was the highest form of research and this is an education for all of us.  As you walk in new ways, share your designs as I have done with mine last year and this. Perfection isn’t what we are after, amusement is! I look forward to seeing what you come up with! I will toss out lots of inspiring ideas… stay tuned daily.
Share away and become a glad designer instead of a mad one!

3. Relate – Share with Care
One of the best ways to learn anything is having to teach or explain it to someone else. Whether you facilitate others, teach or simply share with a few, spend the month discovering amusing new ways to help others get more out of their walk with a lighter attitude and a more earnest enjoyment in what you share. Anything you want to know more about, share and this month share with a fun flair and notice how much more you actually begin to understand. You just might find a side of yourself forgotten. To receive all that, be a great giver.
Share what you discover!

Every Foot Step

TLS 365 Experience #164
Aug. 11, 2017

Using the suggestions of the labyrinth to release, receive and reflect, our group recently chose to walk the path of forgiveness. We all felt as if the world was taking on some dynamic changes and the outbursts that seem to be happening often lay waste and claim lives to the innocent in the name of individual pain.

Where we have felt outside of these experiences and thought there was little we could do so far away, we collectively decided to do what we could where we stood.  We decided to walk in the pain of the individual(s) and forgive it energetically, metaphorically and prayerfully.

It gave us all hope and a chance to look at things within ourselves. It also gave us a sense of usefulness where we thought we had little to offer. Just like the labyrinth is one step at a time, we discovered that when we take one action at a time with one person at a time, we can make the change the world might need. Everyone counts.
