In The Year of Living Honestly
In The Quarter of: Awareness
In The Month of: Discover

Day79_SpringUp_TheAmusedMuse2018The First Day of Spring Arrives and with it a rise in what spirals into bloom, up from the Earth and into our visual awareness. Whether it is a seed or plant budding or the birth of something new, it is a time when things begin to look up. Goodbye to the winter months of hibernation and an invitation to unfurl, open and rise up into this day that marks our calendar year of Spring’s change of season.

Spirals come in many forms, found in the natural environment or the man made one, following the spiral to meet its destination is a reckoning of path with purpose. Celebrating Spring with travels made for an early morning walk in a new state, new direction, new labyrinth and new season for new ideas. Spiral into renewal.

A suggestion to walk with:

On this 79th day…
Walk in newness and with a budding birth and observe what opens for you.

March’s Focus

As it is now the third month of the year and our last month of growing awareness before we delve into the ways of education, allow this month be one that creates both the light hearted discovery and profound realization. How can you create more awareness with the labyrinth personally or in the ways you share with others? Where do you notice a spiral effect that takes you to the point or away from it? Be on the lookout for the spiraling nature this month.

  1. Realize
In the 31 Days this month offers, become aware of the daily realizations that you create and discover. Walking daily creates compound interest in what you look forward to and discover each day. Let March become your month of expanded capacity as you walk to make each day and adventure in exploration of what more you can explore. Seek to spiral into new and inspiring realization and whether it is rich and profound or light hearted and amusing… be open, walk with intention and you are bound to come away larger.

2. Surprise
One can realize and find much in the depth of understanding that awareness offers us, though when we look forward to realization of that depth and awareness, it can inspire new ways of appreciation and discovery in both our  process and capabilities as we are constantly growing, no matter what age. Invite the element of  surprise into what you realize as it can lift what you discover into seeing a bit more than before.  Notice the spiral effect of how you move from realize to surprise and make discovery more significant and true.

Driving the Labyrinth

Day 36: February 5
In The Year of Living Honestly
In The Quarter of: Awareness
In The Month of: Love

Driving to a breakfast meeting with a friend and colleague, the back ways seemed to offer a quick shortcut and avoid the traffic lights and congestion. Turning off a major road into a building complex, a right turn brought an end to the parking area with a barricade that moved up and around and another barricade that returned and looped the direction up and over and another round loop before arriving at the destination. What began as a quick savings of time became a labyrinth driving experience in an amusing way. The unexpected surprises show up all the time, how we handle them is an honest look at where we are and where we can drive our thoughts and attitudes onward and upward putting us happily into the thriver’s seat of our own journey.

In the Thriver’s seat, we can often discover what might otherwise be missed. On this curious journey of shortcuts, with love as the focus and heart in mind,  the Heart Center was a part of the complex that made up this unique driving labyrinth. A fun find in the day’s experience and an honest revealing about the things that show up with heart and attitude on the path we take to get from here to there. This little shortcut provided longer realizations in the ways to move through the labyrinths that show up in our lives unexpectedly. While it might tend to remind our conditioned mind of the many wrong turns or mistakes in direction made in previous experiences on the road, with a little curiosity about the redirects, it became a great way to play with the labyrinth on a larger scale.

A suggestion to walk with:

On this Fifth day…
Discover your many paths today and what drives you on each? How honest is any change with a focus of love?

February’s Focus

As it is the second month of the year, enjoy two opportunities… discovery and realization.

  1. Discover your Love capacity:
This month’s 28 days will focus on how we are loving the moments we are creating. Learning to be “in love” with our focus, it expands who we are beyond the partnered relational aspects and into the focus of loving what we offer the world, who we are in community, relating at a higher level to everything and everyone; and most significantly,  elevating the relationship we have with ourselves. Prepare for a wonderful experience of exercising the power of love with the freedom of honesty to realize a greater look at possibilities and potential n a delightful way. Discover how capable you are!

2. Realize synchronous evidence:
Inspired by the variety of heart shaped labyrinths, this month capture your experiences with images of the heart. Be on the look out for where the synchronicity of the moments where your heart is in focus and then look around to see where you can find the shape of a heart in symbol. Your awareness will expand and you just might be surprised to find that when we look with an open heart, we can find it in reference near by. It does require a bit of imagination, though the findings are wonderfully worth it. Share all the heart shaped labyrinth images you find with images, links or comments and I will be happy to post the images and moments.
Care to Share and Share to Care!

Journey Into You

TLS 365 Experience #244
October 30, 2017

Journey into the Center of You LAT2007

Wherever we are in the world, the one place we can always go into to get away from others or out of a discomforting place is within.

For some it is not a known destination or one that may be fully welcoming in the moment, though it is the place where our truth exists. That can be liberating, encouraging and wonderfully reminding of who we are and how we are meant to be useful in the world.

It is a journey to appreciate and love, one step at a time. Know the gifts are both deep and priceless. The labyrinth’s journey unwinds us slowly to discover more in each step and to wind our way around to realizing its center and it is a journey of steps to get there.

Realize a significant prize is in the steps from here to there.

The Quiet

TLS 365 Experience #153
July 31, 2017

The quietness of a labyrinth in CaliforniaToday is a quiet day and as I reach for the labyrinth, it becomes a still and quiet walk. I find when I am in this kind of quiet, everything seems slower and more profound. Whether I finger walk or utilize full body, the movements I make are very purposeful as if I can feel the tense and release of muscles. noticing how  each is applied in the momentum. My awareness becomes very exact as the quiet is applied like a blanket, and rolls out in a complete way to encompass the entire body.

The quiet is internal and isolates the outside world from the experience. Each motion is observed for what it is, without any descriptive thought or plan from the mind. It is in these moments of the walk that the action of the leg striding to make its next step is complete with the natural force of the foot bearing weight onto the pathway. In the finger walk it is the extension of the arm and the texture felt under the finger as it reaches its destination along patterns and grooves.

To apply a deep quiet creates an expansion of awareness and greater appreciation of each chosen action.

Adventure

TLS 365 Experience #150
July 28, 2017

Today I am headed on a road trip.

I often drive and sometimes across the country. One of the things I like to do is find where the labyrinths are along the way. Sometimes I divert a little farther than I plan, though it is always interesting to meet new labyrinths along the way. They have a story to tell that is unique to the purpose it was built for.

I think of it as a journey and an exploration that is a trip within a trip and where I can plot out its destination on a map, once on the labyrinth… I never know where it can take me.

Day Eleven… Divine Prosperity

12DaysOfLabyrinthsPlay along in December, any 12 days or just make it last all month. Today’s post moves beyond the simple preparations into the action of the game itself. Read The Game and How to Play in the link below to follow along. Then send along comments of your experience.
The Game and How to Play
Preparations…12 Things that Matter
Preparations…12 Gifts, Talents or Abilities
Preparations…12 People of Influence
Day 1  l  Day 2 l Day 3 l Day 4 l Day 5 l Day 6
Day 7 l Day 8 l Day 9 l Day 10

On the eleventh day of Labyrinths, we come to the eve of Christmas, always a beautiful time for a reflective walk.

IMG_4598On this day I took a trip north and realized amidst the majesty of the mountains and the open sky, the long strip of expressway road alongside the Peyote Indian Reservation area. A little farther up was the Correctional Institution and getting closer to my destination was the Air Force Base. In all it was about a 40 minute drive in search of a new labyrinth.

Getting there was a pattern of labyrinth I might call an ulterior motive of the builders, if it weren’t for the fact that they didn’t have command of the highway and off road system. The directions were as simple as I found them written, though because the destination was tucked away, I had to recall that I was to watch for a certain side exit, two billboards and a certain crop of trees.

IMG_4599Finding the exit I pulled off only to find it was simply a loop that put me back on the expressway, until I recognized I could drive across the expressway to a road on the other side. From there I headed onto the dirt trail feeling the adventure of an off roader stir. I followed the trail for a bit noting its interesting turns and elevations. I didn’t know how far in the labyrinth sat, though felt it was most likely located near the Temple that purposed its existence.

After the road narrowed and the trail appeared to have no end, I stopped and considered how I might turn around. It was one lane with a drop off on either side and all alone out in this deserted area, I decided that a slow measured process of moving back and forth might not be the ideal move of an off roader, though in my case it served well in revolving 180 degrees effectively.

IMG_4611Having found my way back out to the street, I found a short way down the road was another inlet. Fortunately it didn’t take long to navigate to my destination. I had arrived at Sekmeth’s Temple. This was a small structure without doors and a domed open ceiling that was used for meditations and understanding the feminine spirit. They called it the Goddess or the Mother and had iconic imagery adorned to celebrate all aspects of the divine feminine.IMG_4613

The Temple had four directional cutouts and each showcased the mountains and the desert areas as if designed for photographic artistry. As I stepped out of the Temple, I could see the Labyrinth off to the south located at the end of a curved trail.

The trail was outlined with area rocks that made a perfect outline for the path. Coming up to the labyrinth, I noted smaller rock of the same quality was used to create the design with a dark portion in the center to symbolize the Mother in movement.

IMG_4637I found it quite something to be walking this classical design surrounded by mountains on all sides, tumbleweed and desert plants circling the permitter and stretching across the expanse of the open plains while the sky opened in endless blue overhead. This indeed was divine property and a suitable pick to honor and celebrate the feminine spirit.

I knew before I began my walk that the significant people who showed up in my world would be the Women’s Circle that I had been a part of all year. The essence of this place would call to their hearts, and for me it called them to my heart and mind in this walk. In this year of transition, they were always there in spirit and love ready to tackle the important ideas are group represented each week. I cherish and honor each of the women and the greater purpose for the circle.

IMG_4630The concept of prosperity also came up, which is one of the points of our circle as well. This labyrinth was indeed prosperous in its very natural rich abundance of materials that made it up. When one looked at the area settings, they amplified the bounty of Mother Nature, indeed it was a good concept from my topic list of importance to consider.

IMG_4655As I walked along, I thought of the new direction I was taking and how it applied to prosperity. I began to think of as well of the things I was to gift my children with for the holidays. I am not one for the traditional gifts and this year I know with my many changes, the one thing I could give to my children was a Mom on the Move. I wanted to let them know I would be ok and that they might be inspired by some of the things I was undertaking. So as I walked I thought of how they had been my inspiration from a serious illness when they were young. I couldn’t die, I had children to live for. It propelled me and moved me with great purpose.

IMG_4659While these changes may not be the life threatening scenario of years past, they do call for inspiration and action. I realized that in the three areas I wanted to move, I might gift my children with the knowledge that they are my motivation and spirit for accomplishment. So for Christmas I wrote up a card for my son that named him my inspiration and dedication for the writing and projects I wanted to complete. I wrote one to my daughter sharing the same with the unity community building I was to do locally and across the nation. For my youngest daughter, I named her my spark for adventure and travel that I wanted to accomplish.

IMG_4648Each now had a reason to check in as my support and resource as they saw fit and so did I.  They also might realize that this encouraged me to be a better person and in turn they might become better  themselves inspired to know what can be done and how to appreciate and utilize support from others. In all it seemed to have more meaning than any gift I could purchase. Maybe next year they might just name me an inspiration for something they might want to accomplish.
