Welcome March

Day 60: March 1
In The Year of Living Honestly
In The Quarter of: Awareness
In The Month of: Discovery

Welcome to the 61st day of the year and the new month of March in the calendar year of 2018. Let it become a month like none other in the exploration of the quarterly theme of Awareness to both realize and surprise yourself in what you are honestly capable of.

Let this become the month of Discover, and become aware of what you put into your explorations and what you receive as result.
Focus on the design of the Spiral to inspire a reminder of what you put into this month and come away with.

March brings with it a changing time of seasons. We welcome Spring in the last half of the the month and shrug off the winter weariness in pursuit of new growths and direction. Let it be a time to consider change and what we want to seed for the future. Our theme of honest living, reminds us of being true to exploring our greater capacities and reveling in what we discover as the rich reward of our efforts and belief. In today’s walk, the spiral intently became a focus of the walk and an introspective look at the nature of the labyrinth in use, ability and design broadened, thinking of the natural spirals in our life and Earth design.

March forth into this new month eager, ready and willing to discover something new, something more to realize the natural gifts within and around us that are the simple definition of honesty.

A suggestion to walk with:

On this 61st day…
Walk with the newness of this month and observe your relationship with what you realize and what surprises you.

March’s Focus

As it is now the third month of the year and our last month of growing awareness before we delve into the ways of education, allow this month be one that creates both the light hearted discovery and profound realization. How can you create more awareness with the labyrinth personally or in the ways you share with others? Where do you notice a spiral effect that takes you to the point or away from it? Be on the lookout for the spiraling nature this month.

  1. Realize
In the 31 Days this month offers, become aware of the daily realizations that you create and discover. Walking daily creates compound interest in what you look forward to and discover each day. Let March become your month of expanded capacity as you walk to make each day and adventure in exploration of what more you can explore. Seek to spiral into new and inspiring realization and whether it is rich and profound or light hearted and amusing… be open, walk with intention and you are bound to come away larger.

2. Surprise
One can realize and find much in the depth of understanding that awareness offers us, though when we look forward to realization of that depth and awareness, it can inspire new ways of appreciation and discovery in both our  process and capabilities as we are constantly growing, no matter what age. Invite the element of  surprise into what you realize as it can lift what you discover into seeing a bit more than before.  Notice the spiral effect of how you move from realize to surprise and make discovery more significant and true.

A Slightly Different Path

TLS 365 Experience #297
December 22, 2017

Taking A Slightly Different Path

Visiting family, and up early,  a long walk seemed just the ticket to soothe the stiffness of the long drive the day before. Walking through the woods and onto a clearing, I could really appreciated being present in nature’s new blanket of snow just beginning to fall.

Taking a slightly different path on the way back, I found myself on the grounds of an old abandoned property that looked as if it had been something grand at one time. An intuitive feeling led me behind one of the buildings and what a surprise to find a labyrinth.

I later found this was still used by the community, though at the moment I was the only one present. Where all was still and silent, I stepped onto the labyrinth with much gratitude rising.  The sounds in the silence of the crisp morning were alive with crunch and whistle as the soft breeze of cool air was just enough to appreciate this tucked away treasure.

To think I would have missed this if I took the same walk back, only makes me more glad I didn’t.

Adventure

TLS 365 Experience #150
July 28, 2017

Today I am headed on a road trip.

I often drive and sometimes across the country. One of the things I like to do is find where the labyrinths are along the way. Sometimes I divert a little farther than I plan, though it is always interesting to meet new labyrinths along the way. They have a story to tell that is unique to the purpose it was built for.

I think of it as a journey and an exploration that is a trip within a trip and where I can plot out its destination on a map, once on the labyrinth… I never know where it can take me.

The Labyrinth of Lost and Found

TLS 365 Experience #91
May 30, 2017

One can get as lost in the flow as they can in the routine. It is in coming to the center of either that the lost becomes the found. The way we will understand it is in the steps we take to get there, even if they twist and turn along the way.

A Reflective Spiral

TLS 365 Experience #47
April 16, 2017

As we move into the circle,
we move into the parts unseen.

Footsteps following,
yet creating a place we have not been before,
even though the path is well worn.

The inner circles transform our way as they shift
the direction and redirect always drawing us inward,
spiraling into our center.

Wholly purposeful,
we become even more complete
when we emerge thinking we will return,
only to discover that we
have really just arrived.
