The Lens of the Labyrinth

Day 5

January 5 2019
Month of Beginnings
Quarter of Consciousness
Let’s Walk the World, a focus of contribution

  1. For Today’s Walk:
How do you visualize your experiences before the walk, during and after?
  2. For Today’s Experience:
Observe what you take in from a visual perspective from different angles
  3. Share Today:   Share your message
When we collectively offer the ways to begin, someone sees a new idea, thought or experience to enjoy. Today, share images, art, ideas, designs, tips, facilitations, building strategies, ideas from your book, poems, teachings, etc.

Today’s Experience:

Image of lens of labyrinth As we walk through this experience of contribution this year, a new thought on the visual angles that we experience the labyrinth from occurs today. We can walk the labyrinth and experience it differently each time we walk, even after many years. The well worn path has many tales to tell.

For sharing with others and for this 365 Experience, many photos and designs have been sparked by the walking experience. When it comes to photographing, it can occur prior to the experience, as if to capture the intention or after to relate the different places that highlight the journey. Not often, yet when called, memorialized moments are realized for specific purposes. No photo however entirely captures the spirit of the moment.

To express an experience the following thoughts randomly emerge when the lens of the labyrinth is in focus. It is in the angles of the lens or to articulate a point that photos communicate. When standing on higher elevation or holding the camera on slant, using the background or foliage nearby and with various stages of lighting, the message of the labyrinth can come through uniquely. Not a professional photographer, these are mere ideas to consider when embracing the experience and sharing it. The labyrinth can look wholly different from daylight to sunset and from a side view or a broad sweep across its lines.

We haven’t ever had any speak to this angle in an experience as of yet, and when submitting your photos with experience, it may give rise to yet another way to view your experience.

January: A Month of Beginnings

With a focus on sharing this month and the ways we set up our plans to the actual way we place our first step, beginnings can offer us a way to realize our outcomes.

  1.  Explore what beginning is like for you, personally or professionally in all you do.
  2.  Observe yourself in this first quarter of the year as a contribution.
  3.  Walk, design, teach, build, express yourself in sharing an experience this month.

A Case of Compassion

Day 364  December 30
In The Year of Honest Living
In The Quarter of: Contribution
In The Month of: Honest Gifts

Segment Five: Skills
Days 359-364

Considering Compassion

Image of Star Labyrinth for Segment 5 of Skills.Of all the skills we can improve and engage our natural abilities with full honesty, compassion is a skill we may wish to embrace more of. It is an essence that is a container for our character, feelings and how we regulate ourselves with it for the well being of what we relate to.

Sympathy is the status of feeling for another in their hardships, empathy is a way to endorse another’s experience by standing in their shoes, yet compassion offers us a place to elevate ourselves to and invite those who might need a hug from humanity into. With compassion everyone is elevated and its quality is so expansive, that it may also engage others who are nearby in an energetic embrace.

Tapping into the potential of our abilities through our skill capacity will always be a beneficial improvement with a walk of compassion in our life. It helps us to care in an efficient manner and provide effective strategies that become magnified in our ability to be steadfast in our own grounding while acknowledging what might not be.

Our walks of the labyrinth, designs, facilitations, creations and offerings this year have provided 364 days thus far, in cultivating a relationship with it, ourselves, and our abilities that are yet to be discovered. This message of honest living has employed a great sense of compassion that sees past being right or wrong and asks us to reveal ourselves and what we wish to be. A lesson in personal compassion.

Daily Insights of this 364th day…
Observe what compassion feels like. Notice how much more of it has risen this year in the discovery of honest abilities.

Day 116: April 26
In The Year of Living Honestly
In The Quarter of: Education
In The Month of: Amusement

Day 116 Labyrinth, the wheelHaving spent the better part of the last few days behind the wheel of a car traveling cross country, the wheel became a fascination with circular reality. It purposefully led the direction and where it went straightforward mainly, there were turns and new directions to embrace; each defining the journey and the point of direction. The wheel itself turned left then back to center, right then back to center and continued in a natural way that appreciated the labyrinth and what it can offer in similar migration.

The next time you partake of a journey, consider the directions and redirections made by the simple turn of fate and turn on purpose. Let the wheel of life rotate to bring great directions and reflections.

On this 116th day…
Take a walk today on the labyrinth  and notice turns and directions that guide you. Consider the many turns and directions throughout your day and where they lead.

April's Banner Year of Living Honestly 2018April’s Focus

Let this month unfurl your creativity, spontaneity and jocularity. It feels good to feel good and while we have been conditioned to shush our good times, let the labyrinth be our own private creation station of amusement, enjoyment and playful experiments. This month educate with amusement and see how much farther you get. Have fun and be creative.  We have three opportunities to education your potential with amusement this month that involves either your personal walk, your ability to design and how much you can learn by sharing. On your Mark, Get Set…Go!

  1. Innovate – Walk Amused
In the 30 days that grace this month, play with the way you personally experience the labyrinth. Let this season of education be one of personal bests and enjoy finding a new way to be innovative, creative, inspired and amused in your personal experiences. I’d love to see what you come up with!
    Please share your wonderful experiences!

2. Create – Design Inspired
To date I have created 95 different labyrinth creations and designs since the beginning of the year, let that inspire you to create something new this month that is inspiring and firing for your imagination. Einstein said that playing with ideas was the highest form of research and this is an education for all of us.  As you walk in new ways, share your designs as I have done with mine last year and this. Perfection isn’t what we are after, amusement is! I look forward to seeing what you come up with! I will toss out lots of inspiring ideas… stay tuned daily.
Share away and become a glad designer instead of a mad one!

3. Relate – Share with Care
One of the best ways to learn anything is having to teach or explain it to someone else. Whether you facilitate others, teach or simply share with a few, spend the month discovering amusing new ways to help others get more out of their walk with a lighter attitude and a more earnest enjoyment in what you share. Anything you want to know more about, share and this month share with a fun flair and notice how much more you actually begin to understand. You just might find a side of yourself forgotten. To receive all that, be a great giver.
Share what you discover!

When a Walk is just a Walk

TLS 365 Experience #131
July 9, 2017

When you walk the labyrinth a lot, whether for meditation, spiritual practice or just a regular life dedication, there are times when it really does appear that we walk around in circles. I’ve noticed that just because I wanted to create a devoted time to walk and be with myself in this simple way, there are days when nothing special comes up.

I think of these as times where I notice my other distractions more than my inner messages. Many might make that wrong and tell me I am not focused or lack the intention, though what I find is that even in these days of non connection, I am very honestly aware of my disconnection. Where I may have wanted peace, answers or inspiration and I walked out realizing that all I was left with was the wanting, that was a message too.

The non-messages and unsettled experiences to me are the mirrors and metaphors that don’t really need explaining and when they occur, I’ve learned to embrace them equally as I do when everything is flowing and insightful and in this all of my days and ways matter too. In the non-meaning, the word meaning still shows up.
