Image of the first segment star labyrinth for December 2018 by TheAmusedMuse.comReceiving with Giving

This giving labyrinth is a creative example of artistic development that gives to self when designing as it inspires creativity and curiosity and taps into the honest capacity of what is available

The receiving end of giving offers the opportunity to feel a part of the whole giving experience as we receive things, just giving ourselves a moment to notice, we see how we also receive.

Consider the 365 Experiences we are building this year and how many of them relate or exhibit giving. Let the ones that stand out the most, come to you as part of a redesign or redirection of your walk for a larger experience of giving and receiving.

Give to Self:

  1. We are accustomed to giving to others, today take moments to notice giving to self.
  2. Is the receiving and the giving mutually beneficial?
  3. Count the ways you take time to give to self and what you receive when you do.
  4. Take what you experience on the labyrinth and apply it in life.
  5. Recognize how much more you give to others, when you take time to give to self.

Daily Insights of this 336th day…
Walk and notice the self giving moments you can enjoy in your experience today.

Giving Reflections

Day 335  December 1
In The Year of Honest Living
In The Quarter of: Contribution
In The Month of: Honest Gifts

Segment One: Giving
Days 335-340

Image of the first segment star labyrinth for December 2018 by TheAmusedMuse.comDuring the next five day focus, consider the topic of Giving in review. Look back at all the ways you created to become more aware of your giving nature, educated about the ways you actually give that you might not have thought about before, the ways you have applied it and how it became a contribution to yourself as well as others.

The other part of giving, is to receive. For many receiving is a harder mechanism to accept, though if you give, you do receive and when you allow that receiving, you fill yourself up more.

Let today’s giving allow for the remembrance and reflection of the ways of our 365 Experience, that giving took on a new ideal or perspective. Maybe you designed a Giving Labyrinth, led a walk of giving, designed artwork or a program or just had a day of giving become part of your experience.

  1. Recall, Reflect from then to now, Record it in your own way and remember what it created.
  2. How did you give to yourself today?
  3. What did you receive?
  4. How or what did you give to others today?
  5. How did you receive from others?

Daily Insights of this 335th day…
Today walk in with a giving mode, in attention, intention, activation, etc and walk out in a receiving mode.

Welcome December

Day 335  December 1
In The Year of Honest Living
In The Quarter of: Contribution
In The Month of: Honest Gifts

Welcome December

We’ve reached the 12th month and the 335th day of this inspiring year of many changes. We are completing the final quarter of the year (contribution) and embracing an interesting final 31 days to review, renew and redesign our appreciation of the labyrinth, and of ourselves in the gifts of realized potential the year has brought forward in the Year of Honest Living.

The year started as magical and allowing and has continued to presence much more than any expectation could have foreseen. As we begin this final journey of the year, engage with the daily experience for wonderful steps that bring a new look at reviewing. We’ve covered 11 monthly focus points and four quarterly ways to engage new awareness of gifts, education of abilities, application of expanded capacity and consideration for the ways we can understand purpose and contribution in a life fulfilling way. As we understand what we can bring to the labyrinth in design, programs, art, education or expression, we take away much in the realization of this useful tool and observe how synchronous it is to our own life journey.

Below the format for the review is listed in weekly applications of what we have discovered in our year long daily experience to adopt in this month. Consider what is real, true and aligned to be purposeful and useful to move more in life, and you can review your position about Honest Living more appreciatively for the ease and flow it brings to life. This is the month of gifts, and in this review, there will be much in the way of giving and receiving well.

Gifts that Give

TLS 365 Experience #293
December 18, 2017

As the morning coffee began to brew, I wondered on the small finger labyrinth what message to bring to our group for the evening.  There were lots of ideas mulling around in my head, though nothing stood out and really felt much like the contribution I wanted to share.  As I smelled the coffee, my fingers moved faster and I realized I hadn’t been paying much attention to what I was doing as the aroma reminded me of morning rituals. The overwhelm of the holiday bustle had packed in too much and I could feel it.

Just in that moment as I traced another turn, the reminder that I could take another direction on this. I realized people had a lot to say and why not bring my portable labyrinth with and just get people walking, talking and sharing their thoughts. More over, it would seem like a special activity meeting for the holidays, this was just getting better and better.

Printing out finger labyrinths and writing a quick holiday message on each realization came as I finally stopped to sip the coffee, a simple and very effective meeting was planned using the idea of what gave me the idea. The labyrinth can be a gift that keeps on giving… and I now would be passing that on in giving that idea to others.

Giving Walks

TLS 365 Experience #279
December 4, 2017

This is the time of year where giving is part of the season. There are many without in this season and a good time to produce a labyrinth walk around the giving to those with less. Over the years our community group has produced labyrinth walks of food to fill the donation pantry for the homeless, clothing to bring in anything from socks to sweaters, outerwear walks such as overcoats, gloves, hats and scarves too. We have brought in blankets and toiletry items by putting out bags that can be filled. We are considering a cookie walk to donate to a local ministry too.

As people come to walk, they leave their items on the labyrinth and we walk with the items in mind offering prayer, blessings and song. All the good will of bringing and preparing the goods with love and compassion make the giving even more special.

Evaluating and Supporting

TLS 365 Experience #221
October 7, 2017

A friend and fellow Labyrinth Facilitator was working toward her Veriditas Facilitation requirements and asked me to evaluate one of her walks. It was a pleasure and a contribution to her education and mine as evaluator. She created a marvelous walk and full experience for individuals. As they asked many questions afterwards it was a great result of stirring curiosity and creating a desire to know and understand more.

I found in being present, assisting and evaluating, it was a contribution I received in supporting her work, just in watching how she touched others. We receive when we give and we give when we receive.

How to Expand

TLS 365 Experience #218
October 4, 2017

With the sharing that the labyrinth naturally invites;  it is hard not to contribute something somewhere when we involve ourselves with the labyrinth.

  • It can be in the form of a simple education or information.
  • It can be in a new design of the labyrinth.
  • It can be in an expression or idea that comes from a walk.
  • It can be in facilitating an experience for others.
  • It can come from a presentation about labyrinths.
  • It can come in building a labyrinth.
  • It can come in walking and feeling more personally responsible.
  • It can come in a How To example shared.
  • It can be an epiphany that arrives in finger tracing the path.
  • It can come in walking with others.
  • It can come in lending expertise.
  • It can come when we support others who share.
  • It can come when exploring the ways to walk with others.
  • It be personal in giving to ourselves.
  • It can be in how and what we share with others enjoyably.
  • It can be found in professional learning or sharing.
  • It can be a purpose filled mission for ourselves and others.
  • It can fill us when we are given ideas, advice, and acknowledgement too.

Contribution, I find, is a gift of giving, sharing and receiving.
Contribution of the labyrinth is an awareness, education and applicable experience.

Love Meditation Walk

TLS 365 Experience #102
June 10, 2017

Heart Centered LabyrinthToday I walked with love.

I just felt the lack of it in my own heart and thought I would use the labyrinth to bring it back. I took a long breath in as I walked and thought about what I love and let the feelings surround me keeping my focus on the things that I really loved all the way around the first length of the pathway. When I made a turn I took in another breath and thought about the places I loved in the world, from my home to the areas I regularly frequented to the larger places in the world. On the next turn I thought about all the activities that I loved being engaged in and repeated the thought throughout the length of pathway.

I went on in this way considering the many ways that I love and appreciate and what a wonderful feeling came over. I eventually got around to the people I loved from friends, to family to those more immediate to those far away.

Just focusing on that one word brought me so much and in walking, I was able to get the feelings flowing and activating throughout so that the giving of attention created the receiving of it too.

Go out and love yourself a few laps today and feel great in the process!
