Global Giving

image of star labyrinth for Global GivingOne may think that giving to others is giving globally as it is outside of ourselves, though there is a mindset that goes with giving globally that is consistent in a way that giving to others does not encompass. To realize the fullness of our gifts, exploring the ways we already focus on giving in a global fashion and to open to a larger appreciation expands our considerations.

The labyrinth is a good example of giving globally as its purpose in creation is to be of service. It is open and non discriminatory, it is radically accepting of all. It is a local community tool. Reaching a global community might be to design an online interface with its image in the background to finger walk. Connecting a particular labyrinth to a grid of conscious contribution around the world may be yet another way and by offering prayers, wishes and well being to others in the world, it becomes a tool to branch out globally wherever the need or desire is called for.

In our own journeys, to consider all is to consider ourselves and any we care for. By opening ourselves in the giving way for the good of all, we are always considered in that good as well as others we may never know personally. It is our higher consciousness to consider the acts we participate in and give to as for a greater global good.

In our armchair travels this summer, each labyrinth we explored in the world could be enjoyed in the sharing of it for all in the world who joined us. It was a global giving.

Daily Insights of this 340th day…
Consider the greater good that you can impart in each step in some way with global consciousness in mind.

Welcome the Joy of June! We begin to find ourselves nearing the middle of the year in this month’s arrival and in our year long program of exploration and celebration of our abilities, June offers us a chance to recognize ourselves in the world of labyrinths. This month we become global in our pursuits on the path of possibilities and explore the labyrinths of the world that move past the traditional and explore the fullness of their design capacity.  Your opportunity is to join in with sharing the natural, inspired and differently designed labyrinths of the world.whatJune

Whether it is in the programming you offer for education, the design you build to provide insight, the artistry you create to share perspective or the unique ways in which you walk or connect to embrace an experience, how might those unique differences speak to your journey and yourself in the year that lives more honestly in who we truly are?

June 1st – Global to Local:

Today’s design comes from the Oregon coast where artist Denny Dyke makes a composite of symbols and designs of the labyrinth into one walking experience. The wonder is in the artist who simply puts together the things that are important and combines the pieces to make one whole experience. Today discover how can you make more out of more labyrinths. I’ve often put together many labyrinths for one experience so can relate to this Artist and appreciate the reminder to be barefoot into the goodness of what nature provides. Where you don’t have a beach, you might have a sandbox or a box for sand and finger designs.

On this 152nd day…
Explore an idea of an area of your life this month where you would like to get out of the box of conformity.

Walk of Solutions

Day 7: January 7
In The Year of Living Honestly
In The Quarter of: Awareness
In The Month of: Definition

where there is a problem, a solution can be walked upon.Discovering a new labyrinth from an article of research, I made plans to visit it today. It was a project that involved an elementary school and built by students, faculty and parents. Upon arriving, the school was surrounded in chain link fence without public access. School was out of session, though all area schools were addressed in the same outer containment for children’s safety. It is completely understandable, given the climate of unfathomable random behavior that has inflicted communities across the nation in recent years. It speaks largely of awareness as to how out of control this situation has become, when one moment of imbalanced mental aggression can unbelievably be so severe as to inflict a rage of misunderstood vengeance upon societies’ most innocent. Not a soul could fault such a measure of protection, though it says so much about the status of our freedom when met with this heinous instability of mental health as it does to the powerless feeling it creates in a community and the underlying freedom it curtails in a place where we want to provide it the most.

The raw and honest moment of this encounter stirred a flash of healthy angry emotion rooted in the unfairness for our most harmless of citizens on a national and global level. Walking around the perimeter, I could detect the stretch of landscape where it was most likely to reside, though it remained invisible from the distant observation. Instead of walking, I made a silent walk in my mind about what would service this moment and making contact for understanding its specific use for these children might warrant a visit with permission, learning a new story of purpose and perhaps provide an opportunity to offer a program of service with it for students, staff or parental communities.

I walked on these thoughts at a nearby labyrinth and realized it brought an honest new way to make more of the community connections I had been looking to establish. The labyrinth can provide a tool for service in such a variety of ways.

Take the time to define a problem today and realize how great the definition of your solution can be.

TLS 365 Experience 2018: The Year of Living Honestly
Whether it’s a daily walk, teaching others, sharing an experience, expressions of art, building or design, we explore the questions of what brings us to honesty in our use of the labyrinth.

In a world of emerging truth, the labyrinth is a great experience to discover more of what is right and true about ourselves and humanity. Join us in sharing the honest moments it reveals.

More Global Focus

TLS 365 Experience #249
November 4, 2017

Years ago when I first discovered the labyrinth it was fascinating and I was mesmerized by the connection I felt to myself and so many other things. I liked the notice and clarity and the feeling of alignment in my body. I walked it for meditation or clarity to discover answers and find out things that were curious or to overcome.

Years later, my focus is more globally oriented and not as self directed. Whether it is meditation, affirmation, scripture or intentional global well being, my walks have migrated from from walking into my center to walking into the larger center of all things. I increase my focus of the walk with each path and with so many eruptions happening in the world, there is always a group, community or nation to keep in mind as I walk.

The labyrinth has been a great way to broaden horizons and focus on world well being, knowing that I am a part of the world too.

IMG_4576On the ninth day of Labyrinths… The Baltic Wheel of Dancing Woman fame came to my fingers. I like the smooth clean loops of the design and when I walk it I always think there is a friend behind it knowing Lisa Gidlow Moriarty who designed it.

Today’s walk brought the idea of the importance of writing and projects that I develop. Many of them were surfacing today as a result of the calls that came through and somehow the walk on the labyrinth tied things together quite efficiently and effectively.

As I came into the choice of entrances, I slid my fingers round a few times and the projects that were spoken of today came to mind. It has become time to now write the book I had begun and wrote twice last year as well. There was more to take in and when I gave myself permission and time to do just that, more of the rhyme and reason began to make sense.

IMG_4575With all these projects, writing and ideas in my mind for the past few days, the walk seemed to form a structure and bring together similar threads. I had left the finger labyrinths out for use and found I left the Dancing Woman nestled on the couch comfortably waiting for me. Picking it up I thought of the creativity and allowing that brought the design alive. I knew I had picked right for the day as it is my creativity and insight that brought many of these things together.

LYIUContributorsNow as I enter some new phases finally at the end of the year, I see the importance of the long stitches of patience, very similar to the long stretches of the labyrinth walk. I also began to regard the many paths that brought me to the center and the many people around these projects and realized that today was filled with people I had met in India this year from International parts. All had come together under one purpose and each contributed their abilities and skills to different assignments toward that one purpose.

IMG_4578As I thought about that, I see that at year’s end how these significant people have come back together as we plan for a collaborative approach to travel and work together internationally. I cherish these people who represent a more global approach to my life as I step into these wonderful new directions that encompass the world outside my doorstep. We are the world indeed and I am that dancing lady, full of movement, purpose and passion.

With much gratitude to the Dancing Lady, International Friendships and the creativity that stems from an ever present curiosity. With creativity I develop projects and writings and in this walk was inspired by my global friends who I inspired. It is a mutual circle of love, connection and creativity.
