Affirming and Exercising

TLS 365 Experience #180
Aug. 27, 2017

Illinois Labyirnth

When life is smoothly sailing along, the walk on the labyrinth is an exercise of gratitude and a reminder of the affirmations and actions that support efforts that create appreciable moments.

When life isn’t, the labyrinth provides a sanctuary for discovery.

It is through the different directions that appreciation, curiosity or relief grows and the steps taken are the catalyst to provide it.

A Path of Metaphor

TLS 365 Experience #108
June 16, 2017

Metaphors become simple realizations on the labyrinth.

The walk of the labyrinth offers awareness with a  glimpse of perspective, and as we continue on each step has a way of bearing proof and an easier acceptance. We can’t really hide from ourselves on the labyrinth, our truth has a way of showing up. In the metaphor, however the truth becomes a gentle suggestion and the path provides time and reinforced direction to comprehend and appreciate.

Where people aren’t always able to tell us the truth, the labyrinth has the metaphor that helps us to be grateful for it.

Commitment’s Message

TLS 365 Experience #76
May 15, 2017

I love to walk the labyrinth and have made it might daily practice.

Over the years there have been times when I wondered why I had made such a commitment and what it was truly offering me on a daily basis. These would be normal questioning of anyone who makes a commitment to a daily practice, as I have many of them.

What I have noticed is that each practice and commitment walks with me through the living of my life. They make me consider, remind me of what is important and bring me into the moment. The more I walk in this way, the more I realize the moment is not something to come to, rather it is already present and the pause is the moment for gratitude. In the labyrinth, it might be the moment of the center or maybe the beginning or ending.

An everyday walk of the labyrinth then becomes an everyday expression of gratitude.

The Labyrinth, A Patient Provider

TLS 365 Experience  #10
March 10, 2017

A Patient Provider

When the call is clear, the labyrinth appears!

For over two weeks life has offered familial concern and life support. There exists much bliss in family gathering, though overt concern by all for the life of our young soul suddenly in a deciding transition. It’s one of those things that no one expects.

Just knowing a labyrinth was present on hospital grounds was a comforting way to reach out and imagine the path for the reassuring moments it provided when choosing not to leave the interior environs. Witnessing another walk with their own story, from a respectful distance, also reminded me I was not alone in my hope. Walking it gave my feet purpose as each circuit created new gratitude to all involved in the care and healing from the immediate to the celestial.

Inspiring in it’s many ways to walk. Knowing, yet still realizing the greatness of its provisions, ready and available in service. Remembering to walk a circuit of gratitude for its presence, and all who brought it forth.

November’s Gratitude

November Labyrinth of AppreciationThe month of November is an easy time to remember gratitude as our month of thanks is celebrated with our festival of appreciation on the fourth Thursday of the month in tradition. It can easily be the best holiday of the year because it demands little and gives us much in remembering the value of gratitude.

When we walk the labyrinth this month, we have the opportunity to appreciate each day a little more if we remember what is vital, what is happening and what has occurred during this interval of time. Just asking what am I grateful for, how am I grateful and who might be grateful for me can move the mountains of heart in the world, especially touching the magnitude of our own being.

Feel the change of the seasons and the change in your countenance this month by enveloping a week of thanks, then a week of appreciation, follow with a week of gratitude and finally a week of great fullness for all.

Enjoy the bliss of giving thanks.
