World We Window

Day 114: April 24
In The Year of Living Honestly
In The Quarter of: Education
In The Month of: Amusement

Lines of the Labyrinth in windows of the world of weThe truth within us communicates many meanings and messages that encompass our depth, expanse, wisdom, compassion, insight and even our amusement. We are given a lifetime to explore the nature of our truth, capacity and contribution and the more we lean toward the lightness of who we are, the easier the simplicity and exploration and appreciation for the importance of this time which we are allowed to discover. A lighter look at the world can allow us the chance to view it with greater vision and perspective and in doing so we can weave the elements together that bring out more of who we are as a whole.

Today’s sojourn among the Miracle Keepers brought us on an internal journey that became connected in the path we walked collectively. Listening to the sharing of the members became a reminder of how each communication had a way of being relevant to all participants. Listening elevated the feeling of the group on the walk and in the talk and in reflection today’s design developed from the evolution of the experience. It brought a window of light into the window of the world of we. The lines of listening can provide us with many light moments and levity as this might be the actual opportunity in the world wide web to discover the world’s we window.

On this 114th day…
Walk with others who have come on the path before you taking the same steps with individual perspective, walk with those who will come and realize a moment of connectedness in your steps.

April's Banner Year of Living Honestly 2018April’s Focus

Let this month unfurl your creativity, spontaneity and jocularity. It feels good to feel good and while we have been conditioned to shush our good times, let the labyrinth be our own private creation station of amusement, enjoyment and playful experiments. This month educate with amusement and see how much farther you get. Have fun and be creative.  We have three opportunities to education your potential with amusement this month that involves either your personal walk, your ability to design and how much you can learn by sharing. On your Mark, Get Set…Go!

  1. Innovate – Walk Amused
In the 30 days that grace this month, play with the way you personally experience the labyrinth. Let this season of education be one of personal bests and enjoy finding a new way to be innovative, creative, inspired and amused in your personal experiences. I’d love to see what you come up with!
    Please share your wonderful experiences!

2. Create – Design Inspired
To date I have created 95 different labyrinth creations and designs since the beginning of the year, let that inspire you to create something new this month that is inspiring and firing for your imagination. Einstein said that playing with ideas was the highest form of research and this is an education for all of us.  As you walk in new ways, share your designs as I have done with mine last year and this. Perfection isn’t what we are after, amusement is! I look forward to seeing what you come up with! I will toss out lots of inspiring ideas… stay tuned daily.
Share away and become a glad designer instead of a mad one!

3. Relate – Share with Care
One of the best ways to learn anything is having to teach or explain it to someone else. Whether you facilitate others, teach or simply share with a few, spend the month discovering amusing new ways to help others get more out of their walk with a lighter attitude and a more earnest enjoyment in what you share. Anything you want to know more about, share and this month share with a fun flair and notice how much more you actually begin to understand. You just might find a side of yourself forgotten. To receive all that, be a great giver.
Share what you discover!

Realized Walk

TLS 365 Experience #290
December 15, 2017

This is the happy walk of realization!
When working on a project, idea or creation, walking on it over the months has produced little bits of important information. Where walking on it more has created new and different insights. Walking even more in those curiously blocked moments has developed a range of perspective not otherwise noticed. Then when all those moments, in those walks of inquiry, release and prayer have found their saturation point, there is one more walk left. It is the moment of happy realization in the completion, appreciation of the struggle and affirmation of the goal. This is the walk we wait for and when it is said and done, we look for the next idea or project to come.

A Natural Walk of Women

TLS 365 Experience #255
November 10, 2017

Using the labyrinth for women’s growth and appreciating the feminine, the metaphors and messages are always insightful and appropriate for our experiences. It seems to promote movement in women and allow a place that is stuck to become free in its spiraling fashion.  The body, voice, imagination, and heart all begin to move in rhythm to the paths and turns.

On the Labyrinth
we turn and return
to discover a new light,

Mathematical Seeds

TLS 365 Experience #19
March 19, 2017

A  labyrinth-related ‘inspiration’ came in the moment of recognition that the pattern of arrangement of the odd and the even numbers in Paracelsus’ (9 x 9) Magic Square of the Moon corresponds precisely to the seed pattern of the classical labyrinth.

Connecting that cognitive insight with the Pythagorean idea that odd numbers are male and the even female, the labyrinth represents, symbolically, the simultaneous functioning of the intelligible principles rest and motion, and, by implication, the principles same and different.

Further investigation by extension into three dimensions yielded the additional revelation that wrapping a series of these 9 x 9 magic squares around a cylinder constitutes a continuous helix when the numbers on the squares are traced in their ‘natural’ order one through eighty-one. From this one can infer the symbolic presence of life in the ‘seed;’ and from the seed the cosmos, also known as the labyrinth.

The Wisdom of the Walk

Walking the labyrinth often has often opened up surprises for me in small reflections on how I tend to approach life (e.g. being someone who is most of the time content being on the periphery and often appreciates being alone, but valuing being with others too).

I’ve often been reminded that I don’t need to rush or worry about ‘doing’, and to appreciate being in a safe space where I can allow myself to be open to whatever may come. I had these sorts of experiences early on during my labyrinth walking, so am not sure that I’m receiving anything particularly new now – though in reflection, perhaps I’m just more alert to listen out to the small insights and gifts that the labyrinth so often offers.
