TLS 365 Experience #153
July 30, 2017
Experimenting with groups, I asked one who were walking the labyrinth with me on this day to really take notice of the way they walked in the labyrinth and to be keenly aware of the labyrinth, their body movement and the way they took steps inward and outward. Then we walked again and I asked each to walk differently than the last person had, to adjust or change in a natural way the way they stepped in the labyrinth.
The conversation after the walk was rich. It made them more aware at first of the way they moved in life and where many held tension, it was released and noticed. Their was a greater appreciation in just becoming mindful in the first walk. In the second it became inventive and many found that they improved their walk by adjusting their posture and noting their bodies. Others found that they extended themselves in a way that was uncomfortable and adjusted throughout and others thought it playful.
Of the many epiphanies that were shared, the ones that were most moved realized how much they move themselves and their minds to adjust to please others. It became a metaphor of how we walk in life.
