A Heart Worthy Purpose with Practice

Day 167:  June 16
In The Year of Living Honestly
In The Quarter of: Education
In The Month of: Exploration

the heart shaped labyrinth is full of the students of it from the Myanmar Center

The designs are varied and inspiring  of the labyrinths in the world of exploration, though along the way we often find the stories of what created them, how they evolved and why they inspired individuals enough to create and share with the world. Many times it is art inspired, other instances stem from a way to bring awareness and still others bring with them a sense of learning, faith and the inspiration of the soul’s speaking.  In the many ways that labyrinths come to be around the world, the story of their creators is sometimes not available or lost and it very often has a very significant footnote in the origination and purpose.

Jill Geoffrion has made it a mission to share an education of the labyrinth within her ministries of sharing bringing people to own their experience by creating, building and developing from the inspired messages they can find when they know where to look. Inspired from the heart the labyrinths of Myanmar are a project of the Myanmar Insititute of Theology and what is inspiring is that their is an opportunity to grow from what is built. As part of the Master Level course a labyrinth is supposed to be built as well as a program developed around using and understanding it, ourselves and the largeness of theology.  It is a purpose with a practice and that can only lead to an evolution.

On this 167th day…
Explore your purposes and the practices around them that support the growth, direction and evolution.

Earth Integrity

Day 24: January 24
In The Year of Living Honestly
In The Quarter of: Awareness
In The Month of: Definition

To hear the story of creation from Jeffrey Bale is to hear an honest man’s endeavor for truth. Sharing the story of the creation of the Islandwood Labyrinth in Washington State,  Jeffrey shared the respect for nature honoring each stone for its significance and placement in the thousands he instilled into the heartfelt crafting of his design. Honoring where each element came from and thankful for their participation in the humble beauty of his art, it gave participants a deep regard for the single placement of their feet upon the pathways.

The sheer quantity of stone and story that poured into this design will remain a historical element of unassuming  wealth borne of the artistry of one man’s relationship with the integrity of nature’s gifts. Its natural abundance comes in the humility of its design and its modest residence nestled just off the roadway trailing down a very short distance to discover a serenity in seclusion amidst the lineage of tall trees.

One does not often encounter such a deep and abiding honor of an encounter with Earth and art in this way. It’s memory will live long and its meaning will live into a higher regard in the way of development and creation for myself and most likely those fortunate enough to have experienced the venerable honesty of this artist’s message and mission.

A suggestion to walk with:

Focus upon where and how you use your Earth this day.

TLS 365 Experience 2018: The Year of Living Honestly
Whether it’s a daily walk, teaching others, sharing an experience, expressions of art, building or design, we explore the questions of what brings us to honesty in our use of the labyrinth.

In a world of emerging truth, the labyrinth is a great experience to discover more of what is right and true about ourselves and humanity. Join us in sharing the honest moments it reveals.

Daily unfolding the process:
Next Mid Month 365 Experience Gathering on February 15th  to explore the monthly focus. Share your posts from your walks and experiences with our theme this week at:

A Fine Vine

TLS 365 Experience #291
December 16, 2017

A Labyrinth Vineyard in South AfricaYears ago when looking for holiday gifts, I ran across several wines with a labyrinth name. As my brother in law was a wine salesmen, it seemed the perfect gift from a Labyrinth enthusiast. Investigating further, there was one choice really to settle on as in reading their information, looking up more and later talking to a representative,

I learned that they had indeed planted the first vineyard labyrinth in 2003. In drinking the wine,  one would essentially have enjoyed a taste from each of the vines that made up the labyrinth. It was the name that caught my attention, Labyrinth 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon by Simonsig, the conversation and the purpose and mission in creating that sold me. It also made a wonderful auction item too and turned out to be a very decent wine.

Messages of Meaning

TLS 365 Experience #239
October 25, 2017

Messages of Meaning... You are an insightful Wonder, thank you for being.... cards and affirmation of labyrinth appreciation... anonymous

For years I have made design after design and given them away on cards with affirmative quotes for others.

It is my labyrinth mission and one of great purpose and practice that provides a path to giving.

I receive creativity and more of it when I give. The messages uplift me as I hope they might others in the moment they reach for the card.
