TLS 365 Experience #254
November 9, 2017
Having a difficult meeting of our committee board, tensions were rising, communication was not a two way street and stress was on the rise. I was feeling the force of it all and thought of what I do when things make my skin crawl as this was beginning to do. It was too loud for a walking meditation, and then I remembered the walking meditation of the labyrinth that was right on our premises.
Typically I have enjoyed them in retreat settings and after lunch will come out and walk before the afternoon begins. I spoke up and let everyone know how I was beginning to feel and how unproductive we were becoming. I suggested we all take a walk on the labyrinth to see if we might recall our main points again and be able to find some solutions. One of the managers immediately saw my point and rallied everyone to the labyrinth.
It made such a difference that I suggested we walk the labyrinth before we met so we might come in more grounded and there was some support for this among the group.
