Creative Giving

Day 338  December 4
In The Year of Honest Living
In The Quarter of: Contribution
In The Month of: Honest Gifts

Segment One: Giving
Days 335-340

Creative Giving

In a year that inspired a look into what we are capable of, the honesty of creativity brought ideas and opportunities to light with different perspectives. Creativity seemed to burgeon and ideas were plentiful in the variety and open doors that offered a way along a path to the other side.

Focusing on one topic each month such as the spiral in March or the hear in February, offered new ways to appreciate different values than had been explored. Creativity added unique features and allowed a drop into our own natural wonders to use a little differently.

We can think of how to create a different walk, and then we might design it or apply it with unique features to bring out the most in the experience. From creative ideas expressed, comes innovative twists that show us the same with a different addition or subtraction, sometimes offering a whole new way to walk.

Not being able to travel this summer, the armchair labyrinth world excursion not only brought forward different designs not popularly posted, yet the story behind the design or the materials utilized brought out a creative appreciation. It also created a labyrinth design of travel in the navigating from country to country and back again, a labyrinth found its way into the experience on a subtle level of creativity.

Creativity is everywhere, diving into it is an honest way to give of and into your abilities.

Daily Insights of this 338th day…

Day 331  November 27
In The Year of Honest Living
In The Quarter of: Contribution
In The Month of: Grateful Pathways

Week Four: Counting Your  Blessings

To learn what we possess and are inspired to explore is our life’s purpose, to share it is a blessing and fulfillment. To learn of our own blessings in a more complete sense is to honor and hold them with humility. When we know and apply, we can share more fully and gratefully from known experiences. The more we appreciate, hold with great fullness and give thanks for the blessings that are a direct result of our gratitude and a completing part of it, the more we can share from a whole perspective.

Sharing is a blessing and blessing is for sharing. We become more of ourselves when we share of ourselves. As we live on a planet of over seven billion in population and growing, we know ourselves more when we care to share.

the sharing path of the blessings labyrinth by TheAmusedMuse.comThe Fifth Blessing: Share

Begin with a personal walk and share yourself with the labyrinth as you share the labyrinth walk with yourself. In this way it is a complete appreciation of what it offers married with what you offer to create a completely new and inspiring experience as a result of being fully into the experience. When we know how to do this for ourselves, others easily benefit from what and how we share more of what we know.

There are many unique designs of this unicursal path that evolve the ancient beginnings with contemporary endings. Had they not been shared in the world, we would not have the appreciable blessing of experiencing them now in permanent, temporary and portable opportunities. Their differences express unique approaches of a common thread made richer by sharing principles given and blessings received.

Daily Insights : On the first path of Appreciation in this 331st day…
Share yourself with the experience to feel the fullness of your walk.

November’s Focus

Banner Image of Grateful Pathways for November 365 Experiences

Week Four Focus: Blessings

In discovering the elements of gratitude, thanks is an expression we use to communicate our sense of what we hold gratitude for. Explore the ways Appreciation is felt this week on the labyrinth in daily walks, group facilitation, program creation, offerings, artwork, illustration and design, building canvas or permanent designs, books written or poetry created. However you find thanks as the path, on the path or of the path you are on… how is it expressed?

    • Personal: consider the ways of your own personal adventures and use.
    • Associations: contemplate the ways of use with friends, family, and relationships or other acquaintances.
    • Environs: realize the community uses, organizations, landscapes encountered.
    • Global: imagine the ways that what you do reaches others in the world environs.

Share and become part of history and her story…

Consider the topic with the ways you currently use the labyrinth for self or sharing with others:

• Personal Walk
• Group Walk, Program, Workshop, Education, etc.
• Designs, Artwork, illustrations, photos of labyrinth you walked, etc.
• Building concepts, tips, techniques, design ideas, etc.
• Personal Development, Guidance, Growth orientation, etc

Energy

Day 289  October 16
In The Year of Honest Living
In The Quarter of: Contribution
In The Month of: Message, Metaphor and Magic

Image of golden labyrinth design with Metaphor of Energy by the Amused Muse 2018

Topic: Energy

Moving energy with energy for energy

The  Message:

Always in existence, energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can be stored however as potential energy. The movement of energy is Kinetic and where it changes from one form to another including gravitational, nuclear, electric, chemical, elastic, atomic, mechanical and sound, changing from one form to another is motion and Kinetic. As everyone moves, whether it is through thought, brain activity or bodily function, kinetic energy is an essential function. When we walk, we identify ourselves uniquely as studies show that our gait is independent of all others and can be used as a source of personal identification. Technology has even jumped on this idea to use it as a way to authenticate ourselves. This makes for an interesting walk on the labyrinth, knowing we move and transmute energy, while we uniquely identify ourselves in the walk, with the walk and as the walk, differently than any other in the world.

The Magic:

A walk on the labyrinth allows us to feel, reveal and heal the energy to a more purposeful form and function. It occurs in the simple energy field of our movement on an energy field to produce a third frequency of energy. Like rubbing sticks together to create a flame appears magical, it is simple science, yet the effect is energetic magic, making something appear from an apparent nothing.

Daily Insights : On this 288th day…
Observe your Kinetic energy of movement and as you walk in step with it, open to the energy found moving in the labyrinth, and as you walk in step with it, realize the third frequency of energy present.

Ancient

Day 285  October 12
In The Year of Honest Living
In The Quarter of: Contribution
In The Month of: Message, Metaphor and Magic

partial image of red dirt and stone labyrinth and metaphor of wizened ways
Topic: Ancient

Wizened ways of wondering footsteps on an ancient trail that talks as we walk.

The  Message:

We look back to the far past in our history to reference the times that have shaped civilization. From our view of the present, the path leaves a trail, as it is easier to see what we’ve done than what we will do. Where history is an academic past of documentation, ancient implies an origin of imagination of our beginnings as sources for accuracy were few. Ancient ways are filled with unique wisdom, as if the slate were clear of innovation or any need to improve. At a time when we have so much, our ancient roots originated concepts, and seemed a much wiser time, with less.

The Magic:

Each labyrinth walk can be a new beginning with lineage to an ancient walk. Moving in step with the years of other footsteps who have traveled this way before, we are but innovators of a wizened time. We move, listen and respond to the soul of ancestral roots and the unrealized future. Remembering in the walk of this day, that this path of simple complexity yields a message to relate a time of before to present moment, and regard a new beginning from an ancient past. With magical reverence we may unlock the awe.

Daily Insights : On this 285th day…
The ancient conjures a natural curiosity, walk with it.

The Unexpected

Day 199  July 18
In The Year of Living Honestly
In The Quarter of: Application
In The Month of: Exploration & Return

the exterior of the Hallgrimskirkja church with labyrinth design

The Hallgrimskirkja Church and Labyrinth of Iceland. Photo Credits: Photo Shelter

Iceland’s remoteness already makes it unique, though to find architecture so grandiose in the name of spirituality, it’s presence may bring questions. It is good that a labyrinth is available to ground the experience at its foot and it seems the design a fitting interweaving meander. The architectural description of the church is one of Gothic revival and although its origins began in 1945, Reykjavík might be a unique setting for it all. Completed in 1986, it is the largest church and the second tallest building in Iceland. It is said to be visible for a distance of  over 12 miles. It is both a house of worship and a national monument.  More history

The Church was named in honor of Pastor Hallgrímur Pétursson, a poet and minister who is famous for the creation of the Passion Hymns, a work of 50 texts that share the story of the passion and and used in every service of Lent in Iceland.. Translated in five languages, these hymns were published in 1666, so this tribute is of monumental significance as the Passíusálmar, as it is known in Iceland is a very familiar religious expression. It is with humility that the labyrinth sits humbly at its feet ready for service with perhaps a reminder to explore with the overlooking statue of Leif Eriksson, the hero of Viking age Iceland mounted above at the beginning and end of the labyrinth.

We make opinions based on our world understanding, though when we have the opportunity to explore and discover we open and expand that perspective. Hallgrimskirkja Church may have the labyrinth to do that and we have this journey of the year to continue opening and expanding all the possibilities we possess in each step we take forward. This month we not only explore, but we return and bring what we discover with us.

On this 199th day…
Explore what you know in your walk of today and then walk it again with what you don’t know. It can be an eyeopener.

Sand Designs by Denny Dyke

Photo Credits Artist Denny Dyke, Oregon

Welcome the Joy of June! We begin to find ourselves nearing the middle of the year in this month’s arrival and in our year long program of exploration and celebration of our abilities, June offers us a chance to recognize ourselves in the world of labyrinths. This month we become global in our pursuits on the path of possibilities and explore the labyrinths of the world that move past the traditional and explore the fullness of their design capacity.  Your opportunity is to join in with sharing the natural, inspired and differently designed labyrinths of the world.whatJune

Whether it is in the programming you offer for education, the design you build to provide insight, the artistry you create to share perspective or the unique ways in which you walk or connect to embrace an experience, how might those unique differences speak to your journey and yourself in the year that lives more honestly in who we truly are?

June 1st – Global to Local:

Today’s design comes from the Oregon coast where artist Denny Dyke makes a composite of symbols and designs of the labyrinth into one walking experience. The wonder is in the artist who simply puts together the things that are important and combines the pieces to make one whole experience. Today discover how can you make more out of more labyrinths. I’ve often put together many labyrinths for one experience so can relate to this Artist and appreciate the reminder to be barefoot into the goodness of what nature provides. Where you don’t have a beach, you might have a sandbox or a box for sand and finger designs.

On this 152nd day…
Explore an idea of an area of your life this month where you would like to get out of the box of conformity.

Mirth’s Reflections

Day 120: April 30
In The Year of Living Honestly
In The Quarter of: Education
In The Month of: Amusement

Folding triangle labyrinthAs we come to the end of the month and now a third of the way through the quarter of education , its time for reflections of what was created in the Year of Living Honestly. With three concepts this month, a broader perspective of education utilizing amusement provided discoveries to innovate, create and relate differently.

To innovate means to work with what is already established and develop broader insights and evolutions. The basic forms of the labyrinth; the ways to walk, the methods of sharing, the practice of design, artful redistributions, or our personal experiences all began with an idea and the more we appreciate, educate and amuse ourselves with possibilities, the more we evolve the realm of the labyrinth and its use.

Where innovation is redesign and redeveloping on a current element, to create is to bring into existence something new. Creativity can stem from innovation, though true moments of insight that bring a unique perspective are also examples of truth and development of our honest abilities too. Our third concept of relating mirrors everything of importance in the world, because as humans we relate to everything. How we relate is our great adventure, potential and life process.  When using a little humor in our walk of life or a simple walk of the labyrinth we can find it a happy catalyst of our abilities inspiring our creativity and firing innovation. We respond and relate to our own capacity for creativity and innovation as our body opens and our mind invites curiosity inspired from what amuses.

This month’s journey offered a joyful outlook and inspired creative ideals with thirty opportunities, one in each day to bring out more than we might think we were capable of. In the thirty designs and innovations used this month in this blog, each related to the labyrinth and life with amusement and brought a most insightful and rewarding way to relate to my own honest abilities and inventive process, I hope it was for you as well.

With much in amusement,
Lynda Tourloukis
TLS 365 Experience Coordinator

On this 120th day…
Reflect in your steps the month of your innovations, Creations and improved Relations with a lighter and brighter more amused outlook.

April's Banner Year of Living Honestly 2018April’s Focus

Let this month unfurl your creativity, spontaneity and jocularity. It feels good to feel good and while we have been conditioned to shush our good times, let the labyrinth be our own private creation station of amusement, enjoyment and playful experiments. This month educate with amusement and see how much farther you get. Have fun and be creative.  We have three opportunities to education your potential with amusement this month that involves either your personal walk, your ability to design and how much you can learn by sharing. On your Mark, Get Set…Go!

  1. Innovate – Walk Amused
In the 30 days that grace this month, play with the way you personally experience the labyrinth. Let this season of education be one of personal bests and enjoy finding a new way to be innovative, creative, inspired and amused in your personal experiences. I’d love to see what you come up with!
    Please share your wonderful experiences!

2. Create – Design Inspired
To date I have created 95 different labyrinth creations and designs since the beginning of the year, let that inspire you to create something new this month that is inspiring and firing for your imagination. Einstein said that playing with ideas was the highest form of research and this is an education for all of us.  As you walk in new ways, share your designs as I have done with mine last year and this. Perfection isn’t what we are after, amusement is! I look forward to seeing what you come up with! I will toss out lots of inspiring ideas… stay tuned daily.
Share away and become a glad designer instead of a mad one!

3. Relate – Share with Care
One of the best ways to learn anything is having to teach or explain it to someone else. Whether you facilitate others, teach or simply share with a few, spend the month discovering amusing new ways to help others get more out of their walk with a lighter attitude and a more earnest enjoyment in what you share. Anything you want to know more about, share and this month share with a fun flair and notice how much more you actually begin to understand. You just might find a side of yourself forgotten. To receive all that, be a great giver.
Share what you discover!

A Whorled World

Day 86: March 27
In The Year of Living Honestly
In The Quarter of: Awareness
In The Month of: Discover

A Whorled WorldStepping into this Spring day in all its icy briskness was a chilling reminder that this was no longer the warmth of the South West and time here would need a layer or two to adapt. However frozen fingers from today’s walk in the park brought attention in the process of warming them to the finger tips and our finger prints. Having designed a different fingerprint labyrinth years ago, this month’s focus on the spiral brings more introspective and something new to appreciate. There is always something new to learn and in this expanse we can discover a moment of honesty with ourselves that is expansive.

In the scope of fingerprints, we have natural spirals in three basic designs, Whorls, tents and loops. Every living being has a unique set of prints, even identical twins.  The majority of us have loops, about 30% have whorls and about 5% have tents or arches. Our finger prints develop in about the 10th week of pregnancy and can adapt their shape based on a variety of factors including the baby’s position, what it touches in utero, nutrition of the mother and the blood pressure and oxygen levels of baby and mother.

If you wanted to create the most unique labyrinth in the world, dip your whorls into a little ink or beet juice and make a fingerprint design. Today’s design is a photograph of a friend’s fingerprint. Blowing it up and following the design it was easy to make a few adjusting arcs and lines to reveal the spiraling labyrinth within. As there are unused portions and a second path discovered, the bounty of this design is in its abundance and instant access. The genius of ourselves is at our fingertips!

A suggestion to walk with:

On this 86th day…
Discover an appreciation of the awareness gained as the lines of your life meet on the lines of the labyrinth, the spiral of insight is yours to enjoy.

————————————————————————————–

March’s Focus

As it is now the third month of the year and our last month of growing awareness before we delve into the ways of education, allow this month be one that creates both the light hearted discovery and profound realization. How can you create more awareness with the labyrinth personally or in the ways you share with others? Where do you notice a spiral effect that takes you to the point or away from it? Be on the lookout for the spiraling nature this month.

  1. Realize
In the 31 Days this month offers, become aware of the daily realizations that you create and discover. Walking daily creates compound interest in what you look forward to and discover each day. Let March become your month of expanded capacity as you walk to make each day and adventure in exploration of what more you can explore. Seek to spiral into new and inspiring realization and whether it is rich and profound or light hearted and amusing… be open, walk with intention and you are bound to come away larger.

2. Surprise
One can realize and find much in the depth of understanding that awareness offers us, though when we look forward to realization of that depth and awareness, it can inspire new ways of appreciation and discovery in both our  process and capabilities as we are constantly growing, no matter what age. Invite the element of  surprise into what you realize as it can lift what you discover into seeing a bit more than before.  Notice the spiral effect of how you move from realize to surprise and make discovery more significant and true.

A Symbol of the Journey

TLS 365 Experience #243
October 29, 2017

I love to create unique personal labyrinths for specific purposes, for inner work. When I start a new path that requires me to grow, that will stretch the boundaries of what I had always imagines possible for me, I will sometimes create a special labyrinth for the journey.

It uses unusual materials. It will have symbolic colors and symbols. It will have the vibration of what I want to create on my new path. It will be small enough to seem manageable, as I want my new project to be. As I create the labyrinth, I immerse myself in the energies that will help me with my goal. I let my intentions guide my creation, and when it is finished, it may not really be finished. I can add to it as I walk it during the project, as I receive illuminations or see new patterns and possibilities.

The labyrinth helps me as I walk it on my journey. It flattens what may initially seem like a steep road. I journal, and the ideas keep coming. When I have reached my goal, the labyrinth is now the symbol of the entire journey, and the road I had walked to get there.

TLS 365 Experience #150
July 28, 2017

Today I am headed on a road trip.

I often drive and sometimes across the country. One of the things I like to do is find where the labyrinths are along the way. Sometimes I divert a little farther than I plan, though it is always interesting to meet new labyrinths along the way. They have a story to tell that is unique to the purpose it was built for.

I think of it as a journey and an exploration that is a trip within a trip and where I can plot out its destination on a map, once on the labyrinth… I never know where it can take me.
