In between the herbal garden and the exploratory garden of Lewis and Clark, the Boise Botanical Gardens feature a labyrinth. Situated harmoniously between growth and explorations the labyrinth has been a welcome presence at the garden and like many in the world who are experiencing shift and change in their present circumstance, the labyrinth as well has made a change to a new home and finds a comfortable fit within the new landscape changes of 207.

The state of Idaho labyrinth imageThe beauty, natural education and preservation of Idaho’s natural flora is made possible by the state of Idaho being in community and connection with its citizenry. It is through the donation of funding that the botanical garden continues to exist and by the use and application of its presence and programs that funding continues to develop uniting a happy and healthy harmony of service that gives and receives. It is much like the labyrinth, which offers a similar cycle of service in a variety of ways of provision for use to how we might use what’s provided.

This labyrinth in the state of Idaho provides us with the state of being in service and the cyclical nature of what that can mean in a continuous beneficial and reciprocal way.

Opportunities for August

As we traveled the globe in search of exploration and returned with an abundance of realizing the consecutive connectives of the world in June and July, we touched the mere surface of our planet through the eyes of the labyrinth.  In the month of August, we continue the explorative nature looking for what insight brings us to unite. It can be a  discovery of the united purpose that we connect with others, or in the way we bring who we are with what we can and want to do.  What August brings is a focus of how the labyrinth brings state of being united, within ourselves within the United States. Send along the labyrinths, programs, art, and offerings within the United States that you feel best represents this for daily postings.

  1. What Unites
Reach out and share the unique labyrinths in this month within the United States that serve to unite. We look for the unique design, interesting purpose, connected message, in the labyrinth or in the ways we share with others in message or program, art, design and education applied. Share your ideas, programs, purpose images and experiences at the 365 Experience on the TLS website providing some detail of why you design, share, create, build or simply walk, who benefits and how it helps us unite. Personal insight or National perspectives are welcome.
  2. What brings Insight
As we take each day of the 31 available in August exploring what brings us insight with our selves or as a nation through the paths of the Labyrinth.  This quarter focuses on the ways we apply the insight we gain and as we are united with our own insights, may we use them as well in a way that unites us personally and also purposefully with others as a nation united.
  3. Join the online  Mid Month Dialogues Call on Friday August 15th at NOON PST
Be curious, research and share what you know of unique United States labyrinths, the people, the programs, the designs, the resources or simply the desires in the first half of the month and apply something that you find unique to your own life walk. Join us on the Mid Month Dialogues to share what you discovered, ask questions and hear from others about what they explored and discovered. Be inspired with a greater appreciation of what unites us with more impactful insight that brings our labyrinth connection in line with greater perspective in our year of living honestly.   Call connection Information
  4.  Share your Ideas, images, designs and add to the wisdom of the Labyrinth Society

Realized Purpose

TLS 365 Experience #265
November 20, 2017

The labyrinth at our Health Center had been received with such enthusiasm only a year ago upon its unveiling, and I wondered as I walked it alone, where were the people using it today? There used to be many and I liked when I was with others, it gave me a sense that this was a tool of purpose; even when I didn’t understand it. The more often I walked it, the more I began to fall away from what I thought it was, to what it became for me.

One day in walking, I began to realize where there were many disagreements in our department, and though they do get smoothed over, the realization of how beneficial the labyrinth would be in smoothing over more of them. In fact, if they used this regularly, there just might be less of those disagreements and more time and energy for creative use.  Walking further, it dawned, that retention is something we gain by using, understanding and realizing importance and purpose. Maybe if I had stopped walking it, I wouldn’t fully understand what I do now.

By the time I finished my walk, I realized a greater value in what I could offer to re-stimulate the labyrinth by sharing my own discovery of repetitive use. I wrote an article and created a walk for our department. Later I created some walks for the center and then for the community. It was in the walking and practice that I learned how to be of value and purpose for myself and my center too. Do what interests you and share it, then you really add.

Placement

TLS 365 Experience #233
October 19, 2017

Placement of a labyrinthWhere we place a labyrinth is important to it’s intention for use. For those who make offering to others with their design of labyrinth, a purpose that flows in the design renders an ease of use and a caring of what is shared. It speaks volumes in where and how it is placed for use.

The place of space
for a Labyrinth use
leaves a lingering trace
with care infused
for everyone in all the days
with perspective views
to walk aways
and learn anew
at their own pace.

A Trip of Self Education

TLS 365 Experience #116
June 24, 2017

I educate myself with the labyrinth every time I use it. Whether I am walking on a designed path, drawing it out, using the finger labyrinth or doodling designs, I learn something.

It can be just the changing of direction that makes me stop and think. It can be in reaching a final point only to realize the destination is in returning to the next beginning. It can also be from the whole experience of it.

I see myself in a whole new way after a trip through the labyrinth.
